Where will all the tech employees live in Austin, Texas?

Austin will be the biggest boomtown America has seen over the next 50 years, according to Elon Musk. Not only is Austin, Texas now the new global headquarters of Tesla, but other major tech companies are pouring into the Lone Star state.

Dubbed “Silicon Hills,” Austin will soon house Meta, Facebook’s parent company, in downtown. When complete, it will be Austin’s tallest building. TikTok is also planning to expand in downtown ATX, as well as Snap Inc.

When it comes to job hunting in a big city, Austin might be the best place to be across the nation. A recent report from The Wall Street Journal ranks Austin as the №1 best job market in the U.S.

The report was based on five attributes:

  • job growth
  • unemployment rate
  • share of adults working or looking for work
  • change in the size of the labor force
  • change in average weekly wages

However, Austin’s real estate market is booming too… and it’s creating a housing crisis.

Rapid population growth, including high-wage workers who are moving to Austin have the means to outbid many local buyers.

Builders are also unable to keep up with demand for new housing.

Austin’s population is increasing more quickly than new housing is being built.

Part of the issue, significantly outdated code stalling new development.

The current development rules have been in place since 1984 and have had barely any change.

Critics argue the code is outdated and harms working-class families by making it easier to build mansions than townhomes, condos and multiplex homes.

The average time to get your plans approved for development is 6 months, according to Matt Holm, a top realtor in ATX.

Matt told me about a proposed solution currently being developed when I visited Austin, Texas for the first time in February.

In fact, I made a video about these new eco-sustainable homes on my YouTube channel, and to my surprise, the video garnered over a half a million views in less than two months.

Take a look here:

So, what is so revolutionary about Neu Community?

The time it takes to make these homes. Stick build homes take too long.

These modular homes are factory built, and can come off the assembly line at full capacity much more quickly than traditional sticks and bricks housing.

The ultimate goal is to have this type of housing be available all across the U.S.

Neu Community is a modular housing development that will have Neu Mountain View, Neu Lake Travis, and Neu Forest.
